Halloween 2011

I knew long beforehand what I was going to be this Halloween. And to a lot of you, it won't surprise you..... I have never dressed up as 80s, so I figured it was time. The three of us dressed up as 80s rockstars. It was so much fun!

Most Fun Halloween EVER!!!

My Halloween was a four day celebration this year. It started Thursday night going up to Farmington after class in SLC to go to my friend Jessica's ward party. She just moved down from Oregon about 3 weeks ago so she didn't really know many people yet. It was sweet cause I didn't know anyone and could do whatever I wanted, no pressure. I didn't used to be like that, that's for sure. It took a while to get the dance going, but we met some new people and then danced it up for a while. Costume #1: Flamenco Dancer. Jessica was the Madd Hatter.

Afterward, we went country dancing in SLC with some new friends we met. I've only been a couple times before, but my friend Todd showed me the ropes. It was a ton of fun! I'll be a pro some day!

I also dressed up for school the next day. Costume #2: Cowgirl. It wasn't as cool as my other costumes, but I wanted something different. Sorry, no picture. I was really impressed with my students' costumes and their creativity. I LOVE looking at other people's costumes and see what they come up with.

Friday night we had a Stake Halloween Dance. So. Much. Fun. I love dancing! We just danced it up for a few hours, met some more new people and hung out with ward peeps. Watched Hocus Pocus afterward.

Costume #3: A granola person. I really hope you're not saying to yourself, "What the heck is a granola?" Ok, a granola is mostly a hippie person, but not that extreme. Well ok, never mind. I guess they are. A granola person has dreds, wears loose fitting clothes (even tie-dyed), chacos (or no shoes for that matter), wood earrings, hippie bands on the head, and drives a Subaru with hilarious bumper stickers plastered all over the back.

Seeing as I couldn't do anything about the Subaru, I decided I could still put the bumper stickers to good use. Everyone got a pretty good kick out of it. Don't you just love my dreds?

Saturday night, there was a party just at a friend's apartment that we went to. Not as fun as the previous two nights, but at least I got in Costume #4: Earth Angel. This was pretty ingenious I thought. I had my ipod hidden playing the song "Earth Angel." Suh-weet!!

Sunday night, we had our Second Annual Anderson Halloween Party. Ryan, Maranda, baby Lucy, Elise, Erik, and I all got together for dinner. We missed you Sonya and Tyler! We were going to have a costume contest too, but no one dressed up. Boo! We were also going to carve pumpkins, but ran out of time. Boo hoo! I didn't even get to carve a pumpkin this year. We usually put sparklers in them, but I guess it will have to wait until next year!

1st Annual Anderson Halloween Party

This year I put together a little party for us kids. We had a little costume contest. Who do you think won? Ah come on, it's easy!! My costume pretty much rocks it! A creepy track coach. Haha! Snowb inspired me, cause she's creepy :) j/k

Then we did a little pumpkin carving. That was slimy fun. I put a cool stache on mine to match me. Dexter's is ingenious, Lisi's & Artisto's is well, amazing and Snowb's is HUGE!

We unfortunately didn't have any candles to put inside them, so we improvised with some left over sparklers from the Fourth of July. I'm tellin ya what?!! That was the best idea EVER! It was so cool. We'll be doing that every year from now on.

Plus we had a little fun with 'em as well :)

We had such a riot that night. I LOVE getting together with my siblings. We have so much fun together. Love you guys!

Halloween

This was my costume for Halloween this year. I can't really say exactly what I was, but I had fun with this dress. I was looking through Lisi's costume stuff trying to find stuff to be a pirate, but when I found this I just knew I had to wear it. And of course it's not complete without the moon boots!

I wasn't going to dress up for school either because only the teachers could and students weren't allowed. But I went to school like this and everyone loved it! Most of the other teachers dressed up too, so I didn't feel quite so conspicuous.

On Halloween night a huge group of us all dressed up and went out to eat - so fun! Then Lisi had a party at her house. I'm sad Halloween is already over.....

So here's a good story for you -
When I was about 14 or so my friends and I all went trick-or-treating. So we got to this one house and I go up and knock on the door. As I say trick-or-treat, the lady tells me I'm too old and refuses to give me candy. Well, what can you do? Then my friend who is barely over 5 feet tall comes up after me and says trick-or-treat. The lady goes right ahead and drops a few pieces of candy in her bag! This upset me because we were the exact same age, but since I was tall I didn't get candy but she did since she was short. Not fair! It makes for a funny story, but needless to say that was my last year to go trick-or-treating.....
