JAZZ FESTIVAL!!!!!

Lisi, Snowb and I were able to be in Copenhagen, Denmark for the famous Jazz Festival last summer, which we LOVED, and so we jumped at the chance when we heard there was going to be a Jazz Festival at Thanksgiving Point this weekend. It was a little different than what we expected, but it turned out to be very entertaining and fun!! Jazz is my favorite type of music so I thorougly enjoyed myself!

We were expecting more of a Big Band show with singing and what not, but this was a performance to end a 2-day high school jazz festival. BUT, they did bring in some of the big guns. I don't know how much you're into Jazz or if you'll recognize these people, but they're verrrrrry famous.

John Faddis.....famous trumpet player.....this guy is quite the character! He was being a goof all night and cracking jokes. If you watch either of these videos, definitely watch this one and you'll see what I mean about being a goof (he's the one on the right). This isn't from the Jazz Festival, but just a little something to give you a taste of him.

Frank Catalano.....famous sax player.....very talented! This is probably his most famous song, which he did perform at the Jazz Festival as well.

Head over Heels

I'm head over heels in love with wearing my high heels. I've deprived myself for 25 years because I thought I'm too tall to wear heels and didn't want to be any taller. In high school I was taller than all the boys until about Junior year and even now I have the same problem. I think it's just guys in Utah.....

BUT, then I decided, who cares?! I'm taller than everybody anyway so what's another inch or two gonna do? haha! So I recently bought my heels and have become more confident wearing them. I've always wanted some. I like the click, click, click sound of them.....

I wore them to the grocery store the other day and I was seriously taller than every single person there, but oh well, right? They are fun!

My First Time on Skiis!!!

It was an adventure and I LOVED it! I went cross country skiing with my roommate and her family yesterday up in Midway. I'd never been on skiis before in my life, but I'd say I did pretty good and picked it up pretty quickly. I couldn't get enough of it, that's for sure! I did fall down several times, but that makes it fun right! I think I'll be sticking to cross country skiing for now. Regular skiing looks too scary for me.....

TRIUMFANT!!!!!

My last game of the season was a little scaaaary..... but we did it! We WON!! I say scary because this team really wasn't that good, but we only won by 7 points. We shot a million baskets, but nothing was going in. I was getting so frustrated!! We really should have won by at least 20 points.

Our record now stands 7 and 4 (won 7 that is), which I must say we lost all of our games at the beginning the season minus one team who was and is undefeated. We have made HUGE progress. I'm happy with their success.

Tournament is in 2 short weeks and I anticipate the trophy in our hands. Cheer us on!!! We will be going in as #2 or 3 seed. We are going to ROCK it!

Super Bowl Commercials

Ok so for some reason, I've always really liked watching commercials....sometimes even more than the tv program itself. I like to see what the companies come up with I guess and how creative they can be. I like the funny ones, obviously! These usually end up being beer commercials however, desafortunadamente (my favorite Spanish word to say - just throwin' it out there!)

I really enjoyed my marketing class at BYU that I took for my business minor for this reason. Didn't want to be late to that class! So the Super Bowl ads really disappointed me this year. I mean, come on?! Is this really all you can come up with? Some ads I see and just think, what on earth were you thinking?! Anyway, this is my favorite of the bunch. I guess cause I think of "ANGRY EYES!!" from Toy Story. Pretty much it's the only one that even elicited a small laugh from me......
