I Officially Hate GPS

Blaaaah. Today was the worst afternoon ever. Don't you just love when you're trying to get somewhere, it seems as though you've been in the car forever, and then once you get there you realize you've just gone in a big circle? I was LITERALLY in the car for ONE HOUR trying to get to Nordstrom Rack on my way home from school, except it wasn't exactly on my way....as you can tell from the map below. All I wanted to do was return a shirt I had bought a few weeks back and instead I ended up wasting an hour of my time and probably the same amount in gas of what the shirt cost. I knew where the GPS was taking me didn't seem right, but what could I do? Apparently I chose the wrong address or something. You know, I couldn't have survived w/ out the GPS when I first moved here, but I think it's about time to chuck it out the window. Maybe one of the many bikers on the road will catch it and have just as much fun as I did.

NPR

K so it really bugs me when people talk about what they heard on NPR followed by....."Yes, I listen to NPR." Like it's shameful to admit it and even nerdy, yet they're proud to admit it because it means they're smart and by all means cool. We all know that NPR is not a music station.......Does it make you "old and nerdy" to listen to it in the car? Most definitely NOT. Like my PA professor always says, "Name it and claim it." Own up to it people! Quit acting like you're embarrassed to listen to NPR when really, you're not. That's all I'm going to say. It's your call whether I listen to it or not......

Portland Day 24 - Overcast

It's the middle of June and I still haven't been able to go outside in shorts and a t-shirt. What is this? Not to mention it's freezing at school. It's looking like I'll be wearing a jacket or sweater for the rest of the summer.......

Portland Day 21 - Very Cloudy

I got out of school early today so I decided to take a different way home. Bad idea. I got stuck in MAJOR traffic. It took me over an hour to get home and I was very annoyed with all of the chillax drivers that follow the speed limit, brake for yellow lights, and stop for every pedestrian. Not to mention the multiple times I almost got grazed sitting in the left lane while oncoming traffic was turning left. I love my back country road and will stick to it from now on.

Funky Smell

Ok, so I've noticed this really funky smell in different places and I can't figure out what it is. It's in my classroom at school. I smelled it walking into the gym the other day. And I noticed it in the temple today. I thought it might be some type of material (i.e. plastic, wood). Then I thought it might be a person in particular, like something they have eaten is emanating from them. But it smells exactly the same in the different places. Is it a Portland smell? Vegans? Hippies? Organic nutsos? I really have no idea. Whatever it is I don't like it.... What do you think? I wanna hear some theories!
