Halloween 2011

I knew long beforehand what I was going to be this Halloween. And to a lot of you, it won't surprise you..... I have never dressed up as 80s, so I figured it was time. The three of us dressed up as 80s rockstars. It was so much fun!

Then at school I dressed up 80s again, but a little different outfit this time. We had a Halloween party for lunch......who says you're too old for that??

Then our beloved professors played some tunes for us. It was rockin'!!

the 80s.........still??

NOW this is what I call good music! There must be something wrong with me because I have been consistently listening to 80s music since last August. I don't just mean a little bit here and there. I mean like all the time. Sad thing is I mostly just listen to Pandora. I don't really own any of my own 80s music. Until recently that is.....

My dad gave me 7 (SEVEN!!) CD's of purely 80s music from the top Billboard songs. You don't even know how excited I was. Shoot, I've only listened to like three of the seven CD's too.

Then I got this fantastic CD you see on the left from a certain someone who has been willing to put up with my craziness for the last several months. He picked the right CD! I've already listened to it like 5 or 6 times just in the last week.

My question is this: will I ever get sick of listening to 80s music....??

the 80s = pure bliss

I have to preface this by saying even though I have done a lot in my life, at the same time I haven't. There are a lot of "firsts" that I am still working on. I just barely watched Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
Apparently I hadn't been living before seeing them. I also barely watched Top Gun this year too.
I've also been listening to 80s music for about the last 3 weeks and I don't see any end in sight. I love it! It all started when my roommate, Lindsay, played a song one Saturday morning to be heard throughout the house. Fading like a Flower by Roxette. I put Roxette into Pandora (the Internet radio station) and it's been pure bliss ever since. I can't get enough of it. Bands like Roxette, Journey, Heart, Steve Winwood, A-Ha, Genesis, Cheap Trick, The Cure, Boston, etc. I'm sure you're well familiar with them. I was too young in the 80s to fully appreciate the culture. Good thing I'm catching up now!

Glow Stick Bike Ride

Photobucket

Check this out!! This is probably one of the funnest things I've done recently. Elise and I had this idea last summer to put glow sticks on our bike spokes. However, I could never convince her to go. She didn't know what she was missing! Ha! So Andrew and I went instead.

We got some rad pics, but I didn't even think to take a video. Once the wheels got spinning, there was much more glow than you see here. Everyone was pretty much jealous too. They all wanted to do it. I think we started a new fad. We kept hearing, "You're guys are rad. That's such a good idea. You are my favorite people ever." We rode them on and around campus and we got lots of comments. A few girls even stopped us to say, "That's so dope!" Haven't heard that one! It was a lot of fun. I think what really made it was the 80s music Andrew had playing on his phone the whole time. You should try it!!
