Roatan - Day 15

Bummer of a day today, for me anyway.  J has a whole different story.  Every Sunday the volunteers at the clinic get in free to this big fancy resort on the island, which apparently has one of the best snorkeling spots.  I was planning on going to Sacrament Meeting this morning, then having Peggy pick me up on the way to the resort.  It was going to be perfect, until I found out the church building isn’t exactly on the way.  So then I planned to go by myself, then take a water taxi there.  But not having ever been there, it would be nice to check it out first, see where we get our bracelets and where I could meet them.  Church next week then.  I know… poor decision.

So Peggy picked us up this morning and we went to church with her, but right before she came I started to not feel so bueno – stomach pain.  By the time we got there, I felt like I wanted to throw up, so I ended up spending most of the time in el baño.  Peggy came in to check on me and volunteered to drive me back.  We went up to the clinic and she gave me a shot of Zofran (anti-nausea) and took me back to her beach house.  I sprawled out on the bed for a couple hours, took a nap, then spent the rest of the afternoon reading (1776) out on a hammock on her dock.  L brought me a few packages of saltines and even offered a chocolate chip cookie.  Shhh, don’t tell Peggy.  I declined anyway.  It was a lovely afternoon, despite the intermittent abdominal pains.  I feel better now.

Made it back home just before J came home to tell me about her wonderful adventure at the resort and snorkeling.  One day I will make it…
