Life could not get any better. Currently listening to 80's music. Just got back from the Caribbean. Schooled the boys at basketball last night. Sun is forecasted for the next week. Start my first rotation next week at a Spanish-speaking clinic. Get to enjoy 3 day weekends for the next 6 weeks. And most importantly, successfully passed my first year of PA school! Check out these grades.......
Fundamentals of Medicine 1 - 92%
Fundamentals of Medicine 2 - 86%
Infectious Disease - 99%
Evidence Based Medicine - 79% (hey, I didn't have time to even finish the test. No one did.......)
Behavioral Medicine - 96%
Current Topics - 100%
Hematology/Oncology - 95%
Dermatology/HEENT - 104%
Pulmonology - 98%
Nephrology - 100%
Men's Health - 102%
Cardiology - 95%
Endocrinology - 99%
Gastrointestinal - 101%
Musculoskeletal - 100%
Neurology - 94%
Emergency Medicine - 85% (so I didn't study very much for this one......)
Surgery 97%
Pediatrics - 95%
Women's Health - 90%
Granted, 3-4% points were added to my individual score for doing so well on the group test, but still....I'd say I did pretty well! And NO group points were added to my final comprehensive exam:
Comprehensive Part 1 - 92%
Comprehensive Part 2 - 95%
Comprehensive Part 3 - 83%
(Comprehensive TOTAL - 90%)
It's amazing I could pull off an A on a test with one year's worth of material and only having 4 days to study for it! The most exciting part of my education, though, just happened TODAY. I've been attempting to read these bad boys once a week for the last several months and have really struggled. There are a million answers to choose from, including ones like "A, C, and F only." Really? I hate those options. Basically, I'll just guess until I get the right one and then try to interpret it. Reading an EKG is like learning a new language and has been almost impossible so far. Well, we had a 4 hour EKG review today and I LOVED every minute of it. I will work in the ER just so I can continue to read them. Oh wait, I want to work in the ER anyway. Perfect!
So just a few moments ago, I pulled up Dr. Stanley's free tracing for the week preparing to be frustrated. But guess what? Not only did I get the answer right on the first try, I actually felt confident reading it. I knew exactly what was going on. It's amazing to see my progress after just one year. Just think where I'll be after the next year. So thank you to my amazing family and friends who have supported me through this last year. Couldn't have done it without you!

Way to go, Kristina!
Good job, Kristina! Hey, remind Erik to tell you about his genius idea for your "charts" that got you all through PA school.
